So you thought you were doomed to wearing clothes that could easily pass of factory rejects? No way! That is why I shop online. Sure there are plus sized stores and departmental stores are getting better with their BBW styles too, but these are my seven reasons why nothing beats online shopping!
- Find the Right Size
But of course, this is the most obvious reason. The most frustrating and distressing bit about my shopping experience is to fall in love with an outfit only to discover they don’t have it in my size. But when I shop online, I’m more likely to find my perfect size and I’m happy I no longer have to look like I’m bursting at the seams!
- It’s Cheaper
I can hear you women shaking your heads in disagreement but this is true! If you really look around, you can get fabulous deals online. Also, even though the clothes might not be phenomenally cheaper but at least you’re not tempted to buy 10,000 other things you don’t need when you go into a store! Oh, and I almost forgot, some sales are online only so who’s the winner then huh?
- More Variety
Unless I’m headed to an exclusive store for BBW women, the plus size styles in regular stores are usually painfully limited. There have been times I’ve just bought something because I needed new clothes but I didn’t really like what I was buying. Online stores give me a fabulous variety to choose from. Even their swimwear range is not just limited to ugly frocks and shorts but usually have beautiful bikinis, tankinis and one-piece suits designed specially for a full-figured woman.

- No Judgmental Sales People
What’s more annoying than not being able to find something in your size, are the judgmental stares from the sales people in-store. And God forbid if I ask them whether the jeans come in my size…they just look at me either, as though I’ve just cracked the funniest joke on the planet, or as though how could I even expect “normal” clothes to fit me? Thank you very much but I’d rather not go through the humiliation these ignorant sales assistants put me through, and I’ll do my shopping online, by myself!
- More Privacy
Following up the point about judgmental sales assistants, what I also hate about shopping in store is the lack of privacy. If you find something in your size, and step outside the dressing room to have a look in the mirror, you have at least 50 pairs of eyes on you – the sales assistants, other customers, the customers kids, the kids toys…you get the picture – all secretly telling me I should just give up and go home or that I have terrible taste! I like my privacy and I think I’ll shop online so go away!
- Global Shopping

Sometimes I find fabulous styles through a site that is not based in my country and I thank my stars for the internet. Now I can shop internationally simply by browsing the net and they usually ship to most parts of the world. You couldn’t do that in a store could you?
- Reviews
The best part about online shopping is you can get reviews from other customers about the site or even your particular product. Ebay and Amazon have a built-in review system and sometimes when I’m unsure I like reading through other reviews before I make a decision.
Have any of you shopped online for BBW clothes, BBW swimwear or even BBW lingerie? Have you had a good experience or would you still rather shop in store? Do you have any recommendations for other BBW women on where and how to shop online? Tell us what you think…we’re waiting!

Girls you don't realise how luck you are!!! I usually search for BBW reccomendations about cloths, fashion and style... I find really great things online, with every size and color options, but they don't send to Brazil!... So I can just "date" the things but I can't buy one...
I buy most of my nice "girly" clothes online because its the only way I can find things that fit me without getting frustrated. I buy a lot of my every day clothes from stores for guys, because its ok for a *guy* to be my size, but not a girl! Most of my every day jeans and t-shirts are actually guy's clothes. I totally know what you mean about judgemental sales people. I'm size 18-20 now, but even as a size 16, I remember going looking for a dress to wear to a wedding, and being told by a shop assistant "We don't sell clothes for people like you." I'll never forget that moment. Now, I love shopping at www.Sarafashion.com.au - they're part of EziBuy, which is in Australia and New Zealand. Their clothes are fashionable and designed for BBWs, and show off my curves, rather than trying to hide them. Grace, have you tried www.AppleBottoms.com? They're a US company but I'm pretty sure they ship world wide. They certainly shipped to Australia.
